Say hello to the team.

Anna Newbert
AIA, Associate
President
When she took her first drafting class in high school, she began to realize that artistic expression wasn’t enough for her. She lit up in math classes and was energized by exploring aesthetics and spatial awareness. She began sketching structures that inspired her and, using them as a springboard for her own ideas, began free sketching from her imagination. She would often get so engulfed in her “projects” that she would need to forgo classes in order to “gain perspective and see the world.” Motivated by a desire to develop a sense of color, design and historic buildings, Anna filled her summers with jobs that fueled her love of design and nature as a carpenter’s apprentice, greenhouse worker, and one summer painting what seemed like a million lobster pot buoys.
Anna earned her Master of Architecture degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston. After graduating into WIT's accelerated honors program. Her thesis explored phenomenology, specifically in architecture. For those of us that aren’t linguistic experts, the short synopsis of phenomenology, simply put: although the relationship between our modern world and the natural world is often one of conflict, it is possible to strive to unite the two by creating a threshold to connect nature and the defining of "place."
Anna’s wheelhouse is best described as traditional New England Coastal with an appreciation for historically accurate details adapted to modern living.
Fun fact
Anna has been happily married to her husband, Jordan, since 2012. That’s not the funny part! Although it is yet to be officially corroborated or confirmed, Anna and Jordan may have the longest engagement on record as Anna “informed” Jordan in second grade that, eventually, they would be husband and wife.
